Early this morning I was thinking about how/why I went broke. I made a list. Living beyond my means Having an artistic temperament (bitchy, etc.) A nervous breakdown in winter 2011 that I am only realizing now I actually had and that maybe it lasted for a while and also maybe it rendered me incapable of making wise financial decisions of any sort (This one is just a guess.) Recession Aged out of back-up plan industry (Advertising careers are for the young.) Dinners Drinks That beautiful apartment of mine Being single/No one to split rent with So many freelance projects falling through I just want to cry Wanting more for myself than I actually deserve/am entitled to LIVING BEYOND MY MEANS This country is broken, the rich get richer, the poor stay poor, and the middle class is being destroyed Credit cards Expensive cheese Ha ha ha, I’m a novelist
